Labelled by experts as one of the toughest journeys in the world, the Canning Stock Route covers over 1,650 kilometres from Wiluna to Well 51 and Stretch Lagoon, and takes 11 days to complete.
Despite a difficult drive full of trials and tribulations, flat tyres and blown shocks,
Mercedes-Benz stands alone as the only car manufacturer to pit a production car –
the G-Class four-wheel drive – against the Canning, and emerge victorious.
In July, Mercedes-Benz hosted two groups of international media to complete the
toughest challenge the Australian Outback could muster, all in the iconic G-Class.
Josh van Raad (Morrisons Sales Manager – Pre-Owned Vehicles) was lucky enough to join the group who finished the Canning Stock Route, and heard the stories of
accomplishment first hand. The Canning Stock Route is notorious for shredding tyres and damaging shock absorbers.
